I really am sorry - I did promise laughs and wonky yarn.
but today was THE day
and it went well - I wasn't the only mum who cried and the pirate took it all in his stride. He was very proud of his uniform.
now we move on to the next stage of our lives - and I am not sure how ready I am for that.
in the meantime here is a conversation between the pirate and the first mate on the weekend.
Pirate to first mate "we could ask your dad cause he knows EVERYthing"
Me to Pirate "I thought you said I knew everything"
Pirate -"Oh you do - and scott(first mates dad)( nice save) and Carmel (first mate's mum) and me and Gabe (first mate)- we all know everything in the whole world" BIG expansive hand circles.
First mate - "no we don't "
Pirate -"mm, then we should ask your dad"
I could read an awful lot into that, but I am choosing not to..... except, I'd just like to say I have spent the last 5 years brainwashing teaching him his mother, and other amazing women in his life, were the source of all useful information. Obviously my work is not done yet.

Oh he looks so cool! Love the converation!! Very similar to one I had just a moment ago, Parker told me she already knows everything about the Universe, to which I said 'soooo, we don't need to go back to school tomorrow then?' P: 'um yes I do, cause I stil can't read and write properly yet!'
gorgeous! Just gorgeous - both the uniform and the conversation!
Glad the first day went well for both of you ;-)
